In addition to the accomplishments during his two terms, Judge Lagonia has served as:
Judge Lagonia brings over 30 combined years of legal, law enforcement and community experience to the bench. In his 20 years of law enforcement, he retired as a Detective and was instrumental in developing strategies to address matters that impacted the seniors, the youth and domestic violence victims. As an attorney, he is admitted in the Supreme Court of the United States, Federal Court and the Family and local courts. He is the Past President of the Westchester County Bar Association and the Yorktown Bar Association. He has served on the New York State Bar Association Ethics Panel.
As a local attorney, he makes himself readily available to extend his hours at the Yorktown Justice Court in order to expedite arraignments, warrants and court processes.
He recognizes the importance of giving back to the community where he lives and works. Judge Lagonia is a former EMT and served as a Captain in the Yorktown Fire Department. He remains active with a variety of community organizations and civic groups.
